20 Encouraging Bible Verses for When You Are Feeling Anxious

In this blog post, I’m sharing 20 encouraging Bible verses for when you are feeling anxious. I pray that these verses from the Bible will help you to remember and reflect on the goodness of God when you are feeling anxious, and always. That He has already gone before us, and He is our help in times of trouble. That He is our protection, our peace, our hope, our healer and our light in the darkness (John 1:5), and we can fully trust Him. When we do, amazing things happen.

The overwhelming feelings that anxiety can bring, can be debilitating. It can make us feel scared, worried, unsure, and it can also start to really affect our day-to-day lives. Having struggled with anxiety and OCD for many years, I know just how it feels, and how difficult it can be. I really do.

But, when I do start to feel those emotions slowly creeping in, I read, reflect and meditate on the Word of God, pray and hand it all over to Him. It’s knowing that God is in control, that He already knows the plans that He has for me (Jeremiah 29.11), and that I have no need to fear. Yes, sometimes that can easily be said than done, especially when feeling anxious. But God’s Word, the Good News is unchanging (Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8).

Did you know that I have a monthly newsletter called Little Notes of Light?

If you are feeling anxious, I pray that when you read these verses from the Bible below, you feel God’s wonderful peace fill you. I pray that you are comforted knowing that we have a loving God who is so good, and when those feelings of anxiety start to rise, you can take it all to Him. We read in Peter 5:7,

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
