4 Ways Spring Can Inspire Your Digital Marketing

Did you know that the natural world offers us endless wisdom for our digital marketing? Yep, you heard me right! It might sound surprising, but there’s a lot we can learn from nature. While it might seem a million miles apart from digital marketing, it can inspire, encourage and equip us to take a slower, simpler, and more meaningful and soulful approach to our marketing…and I’m going to show you how!

Spring signifies hope, new beginnings, fresh opportunities, and the excitement of new ventures. It’s a time for preparation and planning, planting seeds and moving forward. Just as new growth awakens and emerges from the sleepy earth, rejuvenated, and ready to bloom and flourish, and share all that it offers to buzzing bees, fluttering butterflies and assorted insects, it can bring us much joy and encouragement along the way. We too can take much inspiration from this beautiful natural cycle for our own offerings.

“Everything is made new in the spring. Springs themselves are always so new, too. No spring is ever just like any other spring. It always has something of its own to be its peculiar sweetness.”

― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of the Island

When I think of spring, a few other words that come to mind are renewed, refreshed, awakened, cultivate and sowing. A great place to start is to reflect on what this current season of spring means to you? How can these words be put to action within your digital marketing?

For me, following a seasonal rhythm helps me to feel anchored in the current state of my business. There’s something so beautiful about syncing with nature’s rhythm, and feeling connected to the passing year. It’s something that our ancestors did so naturally for thousands of years, but nowadays, we’re caught up in a constant hustle and bustle, 24/7, and we all know just how that feels!

Begin to align your digital marketing to the rhythm of the seasons with these 4 actionable steps…

4 ways spring can inspire your digital marketing

Think of your digital marketing as a garden that is being prepared for sowing, ready for growth, and eager to blossom. Just as we begin to prepare our gardens, ready for them to burst into life, spring is the ideal time for doing just that within your digital marketing.

Take just a few simple, but effective steps to prepare your digital marketing strategies for the seasons ahead: this is the time for sowing seeds. Explore your different platforms making sure that they are all up-to-date and refreshed.

I love a good mind map! I love putting pen to paper (with added coloured gel pens too of course) to put all my thoughts and ideas down into one visually pleasing place.

Begin to plan for where you want the seeds to grow within your business. As a gardener looks towards their hopes for the coming months with the seeds that they have planted, think about your own hopes, thoughts and ideas for your digital marketing. What does that look like for you?

Now that you’ve begun to prepare your digital marketing garden, it’s time to plant those seeds ready for growth. When sharing your offerings, reflect on which platforms you are currently using, whilst thinking about who your target audience is.

Just as we have to be mindful of where we plant the seeds within our garden, we must be mindful of where we plant the seeds within our digital marketing. Let’s take germination as an example: it’s triggered by a combination of the correct temperature, light levels and moisture. When we get these spot on, new growth will begin to appear.

Spend some time thinking about who your target audience is, and think about the platforms that you are using: are they bringing positive results?

Just as nature’s goal is to grow, bloom and flourish in the months ahead, setting our own goals allows us to sync our thoughts with the natural rhythm of the approaching seasons.

For this season of spring, think about what you would like to tend and nurture for growth? How would you like your digital marketing to look for the rest of the coming year? In what ways can you meet your intentions?

Begin setting a few small, simple, easy-to-reach goals that you would like to achieve. Setting goals helps us to stay mindful of how the seeds that we have planted are doing, along with reflecting on our hopes for our desired result.
