5 Christian Book Ideas for Christmas Gifts

With December getting closer, in this blog post, I’m sharing 5 Christian book gift ideas for Christmas. A collection of beautiful, inspiring, encouraging and educational books that would make a lovely gift for someone this Christmas.

Included in the list are books that I love and have really enjoyed reading (so I can let you know how good they are), books for people of all ages, and for wherever they currently are in their journey of faith. Plus there’s also a couple of books for young children (which I really enjoyed reading too).

Into His Presence by Tim Chester

“Into His Presence by Tim Chester, is a collection of prayers and meditations, which have been very delicately edited and arranged to preserve the true, heartfelt, rawness of the prayers that were written and prayed by the Puritans.”

This book contains lots of prayers on different various topics, written by the Puritans, that create a wonderful book which can be used in day-to-day life, and as a resource and tool for helping and encouraging the reader in their own prayer life. It also contains a fascinating and insightful introduction, which helps the reader to learn more about who the Puritans were.

This is a book that I have really enjoyed reading through. Into His Presence would make a lovely gift for someone who is new in their journey of faith, and is wanting to develop a deeper connection with God, and learn more about prayer. It would also make a wonderful gift for someone who has been a Christian for many years. I learnt a lot whilst reading this book, especially learning more about the Puritans and how they were people of prayer and dedicated their lives to God, and this really does show through the prayers written in this book.

He Will Be Enough by Katie Faris

He Will Be Enough by Katie Faris, is a beautifully presented book, which can also be used as a daily devotional, and shows the reader how God can take you by the hand through the hardest of days. The author shares her own personal experiences of this and how God has worked through her life, especially during difficult times.

“He Will Be Enough by Katie Faris, is an engaging, personal and inspiring book that helps readers to truly understand and know God’s character, that He is enough and He’s all we need. It’s during those difficult times that God can make the impossible possible. He can use what the enemy meant for evil and turn it to good, He can use the situations that we are currently going through for His glory, to help us, to shape and mould us and to make us stronger, to know that He is good, He is faithful and that it’s only through Him that we can find rest, healing and peace from all the world throws at us and tells us.”

Fanny Crosby by Laura Caputo-Wickham

Fanny Crosby by Laura Caputo-Wickham, is the latest release in the inspiring Do Great Things For God children’s book series, from The Good Book Company. The book series explores the lives of inspiring and amazing Christian Women.

As you can tell from the title, this book in the series is all about Fanny Crosby, who lost her sight as a baby, but went on to live an incredible life. It’s believed she wrote around 9,000 hymns! And Fanny never let her blindness hold her back. Her hymns are known all around the world and are still being sung today.

This book has been beautifully illustrated by Jess Rose, and really helps the pages come to life. It’s written in easy-to-read and easy-to-follow chunks, and shares the life of Fanny Crosby, all the way back to when she was born. This book will inspire and encourage young children, and to know that with God all things are possible.
