Today I am so happy and excited to be sharing with you some of the ways I express my love of God. As a Christian, this is something that is very important to me. Whether it’s expressing my love at home, at work, throughout the day or like now as I am writing this post, I love expressing my love of God at any time during the day and night.

Expressing my love of God

Connecting with God daily.

There are so many amazing, wonderful and fun ways to connect with God daily. One of my favourite ways is through the YouVersion Bible app (Which you will probably hear me talk a lot about, as it’s such an awesome app) that I have on my phone and on my iPad. But there is so much more to this app than it being just an app where you can read the Bible. It’s a fun interactive app filled with daily study plans, audio, videos and so much more.

It’s also an app that you can share with your friends. You can add friends, you can do the study plans together, you can comment on each others posts. It’s honestly one of my most favourite apps. Another thing that I really love about this app, is that whatever emotion you are feeling, there’s a section on the app where you can click the emotion and it takes you to motivational, inspiring and super helpful verses from the bible and related plans. You can even highlight and save your favourite verses and make notes so you can go back to them later!

Another way I love connecting to God daily is through email. I’ve subscribed to a few daily Christian emails. Each one is always so helpful and helps me to feel inspired and motivated. They are such great things to wake up to in the mornings. One of my favourites is A Miracle Every Day by Eric Celerier.

If like me, you spend quite a bit of time online, there are also many Christian websites that have encouraging daily devotionals, along with videos and audio to listen to. Joyce Meyer has lots of amazing content on her website and I’ve really been enjoying watching the Faith videos on The Church Of England website.

A few other ways that I love connecting with God daily, is listening to worship music. Check out my post on my 33 Feel- Good Christian Songs To Brighten Up Your Day. Worship music comes in all types of genres. It’s uplifting, fun and definitely makes you want to sing along and dance around your room!

I also love listening to UCB1 on the radio. Whenever I listen to the station, I’m always inspired and I’ve found so many amazing bands and artists. Their website is filled with information, daily readings and devotionals and there is an app that you can also download too and listen on the go.

If like me you love watching TV, then I highly recommend checking out TBN UK. It’s this awesome Christian TV channel, that is filled day and night with amazing and inspiring shows, sermons, worship music and so much more. It’s such a wonderful and positive channel that is a real joy to watch. You can find TBN UK on Freeview channel 65 and on channel 582 on Sky.

I mentioned above that one of the ways that I love connecting with God, is through reading the Bible on the Bible app. I also have a few physical copies of the Bible too. Bibles come in so many different colours and designs. But there’s just something so wonderful about reading a physical copy of the Bible. The version that I love to read the most is the New International Version. It’s very easy to follow and read.

A little while ago I got myself a journaling Bible. It’s something that I had wanted to start doing for quite some time. After seeing so many amazing Instagram accounts that feature photos of beautifully decorated journaling Bibles, I decided to get one. There are so many amazing journaling sets that you can get online. I’ve been eyeing up a few! I did treat myself to some pretty Bible highlighters.

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16.

By doing the different things mentioned above, they help me to express my love and connect with God on a daily basis.

Prayer.

For me prayer is so important. I like to pray when I wake up in the morning and again before I go to sleep. I also pray throughout the day, whether I’m at work, out with friends or when I’m having a walk in to town and when I go to my local Church. Prayer is such a powerful thing. It’s your time to really connect with God and to have a conversation with Him. To share with Him anything that is on your mind and anything that you need help with.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”. Philippians 4:6.

Prayer is also a time to share with God what you are thankful for and how grateful you are to the Lord for everything that He has done, is doing and is going to do in the future. It’s a time to show God how much He really means to you and for you to know how much you mean to Him.

Letting God know what I am thankful for fills me with so much love and happiness and really makes me think about the things, big and small, that I am truly grateful for.

Talking about my faith with others and sharing content online.

As a Christian, sharing the wonderful message of the Lord is so important. By sharing the message I am showing and expressing my love of God. And it’s also something that God wants us to do.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Matthew 28:15.

I absolutely love sharing the good news of the gospel on my social media accounts. Daily I find inspirational posts that I just have to share. Philippa Hanna’s, Amazing You – 365 Devotions for Dreamers Facebook page has very inspiring and helpful daily devotionals on.

I have also started to write more about my faith on my blog, which is something I hadn’t really done before. But I have this wonderful space on the internet that I am so thankful to God for, and it’s an amazing way to express my love of God and share my journey of faith. I love helping other people and I really hope that my blog does just that.

How I Express My Love Of God

I try to be conscious of Christ’s teachings in day to day life.

Being conscious of Christ’s teaching in day to day life helps me to feel so much closer to God. When I find myself in a predicament or I’m trying to decide what to do, I think to myself ‘what would Jesus do’? Jesus helped people and saw the good inside of people that others didn’t. Jesus didn’t just walk past someone who was in need and ignore them. He helped them.

“Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Whatever you have learned or recieved or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you”. Philippians 4:8-9.

Sometimes, when my mum and I are out and about, we buy either some sandwiches, biscuits or cakes and we hand them out to people who are homeless. The people who we give them to are always so grateful. And sometimes we stop and have a chat with them. Just by being there for someone and for them to know that there are people out there who care, this can help more than you will ever know. It’s the little things that can do so much good amongst the world.

Just like everyone, I’ve made mistakes in the past, many that I am not proud of, but we learn from our mistakes. Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins. I want to honour Jesus by doing good. Helping those around me and spreading the good news of the gospel.  

“We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19.

Through worship.

“Worship helps to recognize who God really is, it opens our hearts to what is good. It catches us up into the life of heaven. It is something we are called to every day of our lives and is fulfilled, among other ways, when we say the Lord’s Prayer.” Church Of England.

For me personally, going to Church is one of the most important ways of expressing my love for God and connecting with God. I go to Church on Thursday and Sunday mornings. I currently go between three Churches. I go to two local Church of England Churches and also a Baptist Church. I’ve made friends throughout all three, and I was welcomed in to each Church with loving arms.

Going to Church always helps me to feel so good and it’s so wonderful being amongst fellow Christians. Church is somewhere where we can all go and join together in worshiping the Lord. Each time I go to Church I learn something new. I come out feeling inspired, motivated and happy.    

Through worship, my faith continues to grow and grow. I feel encouragement and support and I never feel alone. I always feel so safe being in Church. Not only am I connecting with God, but I’m also connecting with other people. I’m forming new friendships, sharing my love for God with others and community is such a key part of being a Christian. It’s working together and taking our love of God outside the Church and sharing it with the world.

These are just a few of the ways above that I love to express my Love of God. There are also so many more ways in which I love to express my love. Another way for example, is the Christian inspired jewellery I wear.

Christian inspired jewellery is something that I adore. It’s a little reminder to help me remember how much God loves me and how much He wants to help me, whether I’m feeling down, anxious, afraid or undecided on what to do. It’s also a reminder, especially when I wear my cross and crucifix necklaces, of how Jesus died for all our sins. He died on the cross because He loves us all so much.

When I wear them I feel safe. And I love showing the world that I am so happy to be a Christian and that my love of God is strong.

The other necklace that I chose is the Multi Colour Crystal Cross Pendant. I knew that I wanted to choose a necklace with a cross on, and when I saw this one, I knew it was the one. What really attracted me to this necklace is the beautiful colours of each of the crystals.

Wearing this necklace reminds me of everything beautiful in the world. All of the wonderful things that God created and all of the beautiful colours.     For me, I love my study Bible. It’s full off my annotations and under lining/ highlighting key quotes. I also love studying theology to explore the Bible with other like minded individuals.
