Making a Difference with a Rooted Box

Quite some time back I was looking all over the web for a Christian subscription box. After previously being subscribed to a completely different subscription box and always finding adverts for mainly beauty boxes, I just really wanted to find a Christian subscription box to help me in my journey of faith. I came to the conclusion that in fact, it’s actually very hard to find a Christian subscription box in the UK! I honestly find it to be very sad. Yes, I found some, but unfortunately not in this country. It’s very saddening that a Christian subscription box in the UK is actually hard to come by. So, you can probably understand just how filled with joy I was to discover the Rooted box subscription by the Bible Society.

I’ve been a subscriber for about 2 years now, and I honestly look forward to receiving my box so much! It’s a real joy to open and it’s really helped me on my journey of faith. As I’ve been subscribed to this box for quite some time now, I wanted to share the latest box here, and to hopefully help someone else who may be looking for a Christian subscription box, or you may just stumble upon this post and it could be just what you’re looking for. The great thing with the Rooted box, is when you subscribe, your support is helping so many people around the world who unfortunately don’t have access to a Bible, and your support also helps with translating the Bible too, so people are able to experience the Bible in their own language. The work that the Bible Society does is just so amazing and inspiring. I think that’s the really great thing with the Rooted box too, not only are you receiving helpful tools to help you in your journey of faith and your spiritual growth, you’re also helping and supporting so many people.

The Rooted box is delivered straight through your letterbox every two months. Depending on when you subscribe, you’ll either currently receive your box when the first amount of boxes go out, or the following month, but you will always receive your box every two months. I currently receive mine when the second amount goes out. So some people may receive theirs in January, and then the next one in March, and some people may receive theirs in February and the next one in April, like me. There is actually a Facebook group that you can join, where you can connect with other subscribers, which I think is such a great idea. I always love seeing the pictures of people receiving and enjoying their boxes, and it always makes me very excited to receive mine the following month. I think the Bible Society is currently in the process of changing it so everyone receives their box at the same time, but it’s always just such a joy to receive my box and plus it just makes me even more excited to find it through the letterbox. Plus, there’s all the amazing work that the Bible Society does because of each subscription.

Over the past couple of years being subscribed to the Rooted box, I’ve received so many wonderful items. Some boxes include Bible journalling tools such as pens, pencils, stickers, and bookmarks, along with Bible verse lettering artwork, journals and prayer journals, and lots more. I’ve even received wildflower seeds to plant, candles, and also with each box, included is a reflection card which I always find to be super helpful, especially to include in my Bible study time. In between boxes, you also receive encouraging emails, to further help you in your Bible study time. To join the Rooted box, it’s a donation of £10 a month, of which all proceeds go towards the projects which are helping people to engage with the Bible. It’s so amazing reading all about how the donations are helping and impacting lives all around the world.

Each Rooted box has a theme, and also comes with a Bible verse at the bottom of the box. This month’s theme is Peace, and the verse underneath is Jeremiah 17:8:

“They are like trees growing near a stream and sending out roots to the water. They are not afraid when hot weather comes, because their leaves stay green; they have no worries when there is no rain; they keep on bearing fruit.”

What a wonderful verse. When we put our full trust in God, we have no need to fear. He knows what we need, He provides and He is our protection. If you’re not familiar with the Book of Jeremiah, I highly recommend reading Jeremiah 17:5-8. God gives us peace, and through Him, we can feel His amazing peace.

In your box you receive a little card telling you about your box, what’s inside, and how your donation, help and support is helping people around the world. Inside this month’s box I received a scented candle, which I think is vanilla, and smells really nice. It’s a lovely touch for when you are doing your Bible Study and you just want to unwind. Inside there was also a ‘Be Still’ sticker, which is one of my favourite verses from Psalm 46. A wonderful Psalm to meditate on and memorise. I started memorising this Psalm quite some time back, and it really does help me to focus on who God is and how good God is. I also received a couple of Bible verse lettering artworks which I’m really looking forward to framing and popping on a shelf. I love having little reminders around me of God’s Word.

Lastly in my box, I received a lettering pen which I’m very much looking forward to testing out. I’ve been wanting to learn how to do lettering for a long time, so this may just be the extra nudge I need to start learning! Oh, and not forgetting, in every Rooted box you get a little chocolate, which I must say is very yummy. I always feel that each item in a Rooted box has been very thoughtfully placed inside. There’s always a card with a Bible verse on it that I really needed to read, pens and pencils to help me with my Bible journalling, including encouraging stickers. The items inside always help me to reflect on God’s Word, they get me thinking and help me with studying the Bible. I remember in a previous box, it included the most wonderful pen, which had a piece of paper that you could pull out from the side, with a Bible verse on. A lovely reminder whilst Bible journaling. I love that the box always arrives at just the right time. As soon as I open the box, I’ve always got a big smile on my face. I remember very early on when I first subscribed, and one of the boxes contained some Bible verse cards, and they were just what I needed to read at that exact moment.

If you’re looking for a new subscription box to try, I definitely recommend the Rooted box. I also received a welcome box when I first subscribed, which was such a lovely surprise, it included a little pouch that I can keep all of my reflection cards in. These boxes are such a blessing and are so wonderful.

Have you heard about the Rooted subscription box before? I would love to know if you are already a subscriber?
