My Daily Quiet Time Routine

My Daily Quiet Time Routine is in collaboration with Gaston Luga. I was very kindly gifted one of their Parlan bags to review.

My daily quiet time routine is a time during each day, where I like to take a moment to unwind, relax and spend time with God. I don’t really have a specific time of day that I prefer to do this, I usually like to take about 30 minutes out of my day to have some quiet time when I feel that I need it the most.

I personally find that having a quiet time routine is not only relaxing, but that it’s also amazing for the mind and body. It’s a time where I can read, write, reflect and wind down after a busy morning or day. And the best thing is, is that your quiet time routine doesn’t have to just be at home. It can be anywhere where you haven’t got any distractions. And like mine, your quiet time routine can be at any time during the day.

My Daily Quiet Time Routine

For my daily quiet time routine at home, I have a little place where I like to keep all of my books, devotional books, my Bible and prayer journal. The first thing that I like to do is to get nice and comfy and read through my daily devotional books. The devotional books that I am currently reading from are Amazing You by Philippa Hanna, Soul Fuel by Bear Grylls and the Secret Church Devotional by Open Doors. I am constantly inspired and motivated by each one of these books. Each devotional I read there are always words and sentences that really stick out to me and help me whenever I read them. That’s one of the things that I love most about them. I definitely recommend checking them out.

Another book that I am currently reading is Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. This book has really been helping me so much. So during my quiet time routine, I always like to read at least one or two chapters. It’s especially helping me when I’m feeling anxious. As soon as I open it to read the next chapter, it’s like the book knows exactly what’s been on my mind and what I’ve been thinking! That’s one of the many wonderful things about God.

I also like to spend time reading my Bible. Usually, in each of the devotional books, there are scriptures for each devotional, so I like to spend time after reading the passage in the Bible and reflect. Which then leads me on to my prayer journal. My prayer journal is a journal where I write down the prayers that are on my heart. I love writing them down because then I can keep looking back at them and see all the amazing things that God has done and the prayers that He has answered. I also use my prayer journal to write down the things that I thank God daily for.

Another way I love spending time with God during my quiet time routine is through the Bible app on my phone. It’s filled with daily devotional plans, which I always find are so incredibly helpful and inspiring. So whatever mood I may be feeling, there is always something on the app to help. The app is also super handy to have for when you may be out and about. It’s nice to just be somewhere quiet and have instant access to daily plans and the Bible.

Lastly, I like to play some calming and relaxing worship music in the background. I always find Christian music to be so uplifting, inspiring, encouraging and meaningful. The lyrics always speak out to me and it’s such an amazing feeling how the words make me feel so joyful and peaceful. You can listen to one of my playlists here.

Gaston Luga, an amazing brand from Stockholm, Sweden, very kindly sent me a bag of my choice. I decided to go for the Parlan bag in black and burgundy. When choosing a new bag, burgundy is always my go-to, as it looks great with any outfit and also adds a really nice pop of colour.

This bag is just perfect for when I’m out and about, and especially for when I’m spending some quiet time outside. It’s just the right size for my books, Bible and prayer journal, so I can take them with me. The bag is made out of lightweight water-resistant nylon, so you don’t have to worry about getting your belongings wet. It has an inner pocket to hold A5 documents, which if like me you have bits of paper everywhere after making notes, it’s great for keeping them all together. And as well as two pockets on the front, it also has a hidden back pocket where you can keep your valuables safe. Click here to find out more.

The bag is beautifully made and although it’s lightweight, it’s very strong. It’s so comfy to wear, and with adjustable straps, it’s easy to alter depending on what jacket I’ve got on. The pockets make it great for popping in the little things that I like to take with me, such as makeup, inhalers, my meds, keys, my purse and of course some snacks!

As you can see from the photos above and below, I took my bag with me on a little trip out. I visited St Andrews Abbey Church at Sempringham Fen in Lincolnshire, which is just up the road from where I live. It’s a wonderful and peaceful place and full of open fields. It even has it’s own holy well. It’s a lovely place to spend some quiet time.

Do you have a quiet time routine? If so, I would love to hear all about it. Let me know in the comments.
