I think this post is the one that I have most been looking forward to posting on my blog, even before we were married and the photos were taken! The last photoshoot post I posted on my blog was our engagement photoshoot last year, and it’s been so wonderful to look back at those photos and then to look at our wedding photos. The last few months have been spent wedding planning, and to just see how everything has come together has been amazing. We already knew that we wanted to have Christina (who took the photos for our engagement photoshoot) to take our wedding photos. We had such an amazing experience with her whilst doing our previous photoshoot. Not just for the awesome photos, but for how comfortable and at ease she made us feel, and just the whole experience was so memorable and special to us.
We have so many beautiful photos that Christina and her husband Chris took of our special day. It would be a very long post if I posted them all, so instead we’ve just chosen a few that that are really special to us and which we think sum up the whole wedding day in photos. Once again, Christina made us feel so comfortable and at ease, there was no awkwardness at all, and it was such a joyful experience. The whole planning process for our wedding photos was great. Christina went through literally everything you could think of with us. We had Zoom call meetings with her, and also had some questionnaires to fill in so everything was noted down. We planned where we would like to have the photos taken, who we wanted to have photos taken with, and also the group photos of everyone planned.
As we didn’t really want to ‘do’ traditional, we got ready together on the morning of our wedding, which we kind of knew we wanted to do very early on. I loved that we were able to spend time together during the morning and it was a really lovely and intimate experience, and it meant that we could also help each other out whilst getting ready. It’s so nice having these photos to look back back on.

If you live in England, then you’re very much aware of what the weather here in this country is like! You really can’t predict what the weather will be like, and it always seems to constantly change. As we got married in Lincolnshire, you’ll find that we do get some quite windy days there! Thankfully Christina recommended that we got some clear umbrellas just in case the weather did decide to change! We found some in B&M for just a few pounds each. Clear umbrellas are good for when having photos taken as they don’t block the natural light! As we already know what the weather can be like, we didn’t let that bother us, instead we just embraced it. David has become quite used to the Lincolnshire weather recently!

Thankfully on our wedding day, we only had a little bit of rain, but it was very windy! My veil almost took off on a few occasions, but that just added lots of laughs to the day, with fun photos of me trying to keep my dress from blowing up over my head! Whilst I was waiting outside to go into the Church my Dad did have to hold on to my veil for me. A huge tip is when you are waiting to go into the Church, make sure you stay in your transport for as long as possible if you are able to, especially if it’s windy. I did have to ask the vicar if I could quickly pop in to the toilet before the service started so my bridesmaid could help me pick out the bits that had blown in to my hair, and to help me to look presentable and not too windswept!

Our ceremony was everything we hoped for and more. For us, the Church service was the most important part of the day because ultimately, our marriage is about God as much as it is about us. We has such a wonderful and special day, which was made even more special by being able to spend it with our loved ones. All of the photos that were taken are beautiful reminders of our day and it’s so lovely looking at them all, especially as the day seemed to go so fast! I think one of my favourite moments which was captured in the photos is when David’s Best Woman, Emma, said a prayer, and everyone in the room prayed together.

Christina sent us a sneaky peek of a few photos the day after our wedding, and I cried happy tears as soon as I saw them. They’re just what we had hoped for and more. They are a beautiful reminder of such a beautiful and special day, and no doubt I’ll be sharing lots more in upcoming posts!
